Yesterday, Sept. 11, was a bit difficult for me so I didn't put up a new post however today I am ready.

The reason Sept. 11 is so difficult is because that is the date in 2006 when my mom passed away - rather an auspicious date for sure - what with 9/11 2001 being remembered as well. All a bit much for anyone I think.

Since this blog is about my years as a reporter, I have come to realize it is also about who I am, and why I made the career choice I did and that means it is about my beginnings and how my parents impacted my life. I guess this blog is a work in progress and will be my online journal so this is just a headsup for those who are following this blog . . . sometimes it is all about me me me - (sorry an inside joke) - no seriously it is about the people whose lives I've been fortunate enough to touch and whose lives have touched mine. It is about the people I have met over the years and how they made my life richer, both personally and profesionally.
So today I post a photo in honour of my parents, (my dad passed away March 4, 2008) because it is a kind of affirmation of who I am.
My desire to become a reporter was heavily influenced by my parents.
And so another week begins as a freelance writer with interviews lined up and more people to meet. It is all very exciting. My passion for this line of work never dies. Ask any journalist or writer and you will probably get the same answer.
